Contact me
Hi, I’m Joanne Posey & this is my story.

As a graduate of the renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition my practice is founded in a fundamental understanding of the human body, a respect for scientific evidence and a love of food.

My passion for food has developed since mum and dad taught me the kitchen basics and at the Institute it was wrapped into an exploration of how food & our lifestyle choices impact every aspect of our health.

I started my journey in my late thirties when I was diagnosed with arthritis despite having none of the obvious risks for that disease. That diagnosis led to years of private study and later, at a crossroads in a successful career in finance, to a decision to retrain and step off the corporate merry-go-round into the world of health & wellness.

Here I have discovered that to eat a varied, nutrient rich, natural diet, free from processed foods can be transformative both physically and mentally and help sustain vitality and vigour throughout life.

It can, amongst many benefits, help support hormone balance, optimise energy levels and digestive health.

Further, eating for optimum health does not mean deprivation & misery; it means variety, colour, texture and flavour!

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Nutritional Therapy is a complementary practice which considers the individual holistically and uses current nutrition science to promote optimum health and address the underlying imbalances which may be driving a range of symptoms.

Nutritional Therapy is grounded in Functional Medicine which rejects a one-size fits all, symptom-based approach to care, and assesses each client based upon their individual history, lifestyle and environmental exposures. Registered Nutritional Therapists aim to identify the ultimate source of a client’s health concerns, and utilise a combination of personalised nutrition and lifestyle programmes to support gentle transition towards a state of wellness.

Nutritional Therapy is a complementary practice and is not intended as a replacement for medical advice. Clients are encouraged to consult with their GP regarding any health concerns, and I often work alongside medical professionals and other complementary practitioners for the benefit of our mutual client.
